Getting Started with your Trial

Standard use of our desktop apps, including their plugins, can be trialed prior to purchase. Trials have no time limit, and you can access our trials from our Topaz Labs Downloads Page to install.

When you first open each app, you will see an Activate window. Click on 'Start a Free Trial' for Photo AI and Video AI or 'Create an Account' / 'Login' for Gigapixel to begin.

Trials won't automatically charge you if the product doesn't suit your needs- no need to provide any payment information to preview the enhancements.

After Trialing a New App

If you decide to purchase, you can click on the yellow "Trial Mode" button in the top, right side of the app interface to open the Activate window, shown in the screenshots of the activation windows above.

Next, you can click on the Buy button, which will take you to the purchase options.

You can also go to our Topaz Labs Shop Page to checkout all of our products.

Return to your installed application, and click on Account>Activate/Log in with the drop down menu options.

If you decide not to purchase, you can delete the app from your computer. No other steps are needed.

Trial a New Version of an App You Already Own

If you already own an app license with an expired upgrade plan, you can trial a new version.

Keep in mind that installing a new version will replace your current copy. However, this can be reversed if you decide not to update. More in the After Trialing a New Version section.

To trial the new version, install the current release from our Topaz Labs Download Page.

When you log in, you will see a message indicating that you do not own this version, but you can click on ‘Try this version!’ / 'Free Demo' or the X in the right corner to continue to thee trial mode.

After Trialing a New Version

Once you've had time to try it out, you can keep the new version by purchasing a renewal with the “Renew Upgrades” or “Renew your seats” option in your “My Products" page. This new upgrade plan will give access to the newest version right away, as well as a year of unlimited update coverage.

If you decide not to keep the newer version, you can revert to the version you already own with the “Owned” installer buttons in your “My Products" page.

Trial Limitations

Cloud rendering cannot be used during app trials. Images tested in Photo AI and Gigapixel cannot be saved. With Video AI, you can export trial results with a watermark.

If you decide to purchase, videos processed during the trial must be re-exported to be saved without a watermark. In other words, the watermark is not “unlocked” or removed automatically after purchasing.
