There are two Topaz Photo AI plugins for Lightroom Classic that are automatically installed:

Released in 2024, Lightroom CC v.8.0 now supports 3rd party desktop plugins including Topaz Photo Ai. 

This is a plugin best used for users working with JPEG files. 

If using RAW files, it is highly suggested to use the Photo AI standalone version and export files as DNGs, then importing them in Lightroom. Otherwise, directly imported RAW files will create TIFFs instead creating blotchy areas when attempting to denoise (without using the 

All older versions of Lightroom CC are not compatible as a plugin and users must access the plugin via Lightroom Classic instead.

The RAW plugin will provide the best image quality results for your RAW photos. Sending a RAW image to Topaz Photo AI enables the RAW denoise enhancement, which improves detail and decreases noise.

We recommend using unedited RAW files with this plugin as Topaz Photo AI does not read RAW edits. If you change crop, lighting, color, or add masks it is not reflected in the application preview. The edits are copied to the output file.

Processing a RAW or DNG file with Adjust Lighting or Balance Color will output a TIF.

For some file types, Lightroom will prompt you to 

, which will create a copy of your original image in Lightroom.

This menu will not appear when working with "proprietary" RAW formats as they cannot be overwritten. A DNG copy will always be created.

Exporting with the plugin for the first time will ask if you want to save images to collections.

PSD files are not compatible with the Photo AI Lightroom plugin.

The RAW plugin and the external editor both support batch processing. Select multiple images in the Library Grid or in the Filmstrip and:

Lightroom Classic

These plugins automatically install to Photoshop:

File > Automate allows for upscaling and cropping. The Filter Plugin does not allow upscaling and cropping. 

Photoshop Elements only has the Filter plugin and cannot be used to upscale images.
The plugins support a maximum image size of 30,000 pixels on one side. This allows for images as large as 30,000 pixels by 30,000 pixels.

The plugins send the selected image layer straight to Photo AI for processing and return the processed image back to Photoshop.

Photoshop & Photoshop Elements

The Photo AI plug-in automatically installs into Capture One. Access it from:

Capture One sends an image directly to Topaz Photo AI and imports the processed image back to Capture One as a copy. 

We recommend using unedited RAW files with this plugin. 

can be used on Windows to round-trip the image. However, it cannot create a DNG copy of the image.

Capture One

The Topaz Photo AI plug-in automatically installs into Apple Photos. Access it by:

After processing, a JPG file is returned to Apple Photos.

Do not use Ctrl + click > Edit with > Topaz Photo AI. This does not save the output file to Apple Photos.

The following window will appear within Apple Photos, and Topaz Photo AI will open a new window.
