Apple Photos
The Topaz Photo plug-in automatically installs into Apple Photos.
Important:
- Do not use Ctrl + click (or Right-Click) > Edit with > Topaz Photo. Same for using Image menu > Edit with. These paths do not save the output file to Apple Photos correctly. Neither paths are a supported workflow and it will cause exporting errors and inconsistent behavior. See below for the supported plugin steps.
- Drag and dropping files from Apple Photos directly into the Topaz Photo app is not supported. You can use the plugin steps below or drag and drop images from Finder into Topaz Photo instead.

Access the Supported Apple Photos plugin menu here:

- Click the Edit button in the top right.

3. Click the Three-dot menu > Edit in Topaz Photo.

4. After processing, a JPG (1) file is returned to Apple Photos.
(1) The Apple Photos plugin will always return a JPG file to your catalog no matter what format the original file is. This is an Apple Photos limitation and not something that can be changed. To keep your original file format, to use the files directly in Topaz Photo using Finder > Applications > Topaz Photo, and import the files using the Browse button in the Topaz Photo app.
