Do I need a subscription to use Topaz for Web?

Yes. One-time credit packs are a top-up on your monthly credits, not an alternative to subscribing.

Do I need credits to enhance images?

No. Image rendering is unlimited on the Image and Pro plans. Credits pay for video rendering.

Do my monthly credits roll over?

No. Your plan's credits refresh at the start of each billing cycle and don't carry forward. Credits you buy separately never expire.

Do I need a separate login for image and video?

No. One Topaz account covers Topaz for Web, the desktop apps, and your credit balance.

Rendering

Do I need to keep the browser open while rendering?

Your browser needs to stay open while files upload. Once processing starts, you can close the tab or shut your computer. Renders finish in the cloud and land in My Files.

Does Topaz for Web use my computer's GPU?

No. Everything renders in the cloud, so you're not limited by your own hardware.

Can I see render progress as a percentage?

Yes. The batch page shows a live progress percentage and a completed count, for example 71 of 78 enhanced. Results become available as they finish, so you can review before the batch is done.

Can I cancel a render?

Yes. On the batch page, open the ··· menu and choose Cancel render. You'll be asked whether to cancel just the current file or every render in the batch.

What should I do if my render fails or times out?

Open the batch and use Re-run failed images to retry only the files that didn't finish. If it fails again, use Copy debug info from the ··· menu and include that with your support request.

Files and formats

What file formats are supported?

Images: PNG, JPEG, JFIF, WEBP, TIF, and HEIC in; PNG or JPEG out. See the Image section for the full mapping. For video, see the Video section.

Why did my video fail to render?

The most common cause is an unsupported input format. Check the supported formats in the Video section.

Products

Is there a desktop version?

Yes. Topaz Video, Topaz Photo, and Topaz Gigapixel remain separate desktop products for professional local workflows.

What happened to Astra?

It became the Video side of Topaz for Web. See the transition FAQ for what happens to your account, plan, and credits.
