Here is our Mosaic FAQ! Mosaic is our web-based photo enhancement and photo restoration application.
What is Mosaic?
Mosaic is a web-based tool that uses AI to upscale, enhance, and restore images. It’s designed for the everyday user—great for old photographs, scanned images, historical photos, and images from retro cameras.
Can I use Mosaic on my desktop like other Topaz apps?
No. Mosaic runs entirely in your web browser—no downloads required. It’s not part of the desktop app suite. You will need either the Cloud Bundle/Cloud Bundle PRO or Topaz Studio Bundle/Topaz Studio Bundle Pro subscriptions in order to use Mosaic.
Will Mosaic be available offline?
Currently, Mosaic requires an internet connection. There are no plans for an offline or local version.
What are the different enhancement modes?
Mosaic offers three enhancement presets tailored to different goals:
- Natural Preset – Preserves original detail and texture for natural, accurate upscaling - closest to the original input image
- Restored Preset – Adds lighting adjustments and cleans up the image from dust or scratches, giving the image more contrast and depth
- Recolored Preset – Adds a restored quality and artistic interpretation, taking black and white images to color (Images that already have color will return desaturated or inaccurate color results)
What are the different tools in Mosaic?
Mosaic offers three different enhancement options:
- Restore faces
Increase the strength of the face recovery enhancement. - Adjustments
Brilliance: Improves the balance of highlights and exposure.
Temperature: Change the tone of your image by making images either Cool or Warm.
Saturation: Change the intensity of the colors by making images Vibrant or Muted. - Grain
Strength: Increases the intensity of the grain’s appearance.
Size: Increases the size of the grain.
In addition, Mosaic also has some tools for continued image improvements:
- Healing brush: Remove unwanted blemishes or scratches.
- Crop: Resize an image.
How do I add an image from my phone?
- Use the QR code or click here to download the Mosaic iOS app.
- You can choose to either Scan an image or pull an image from your phone gallery.
- Once the image has been added, you can go to the Mosaic web application on your computer to begin editing.
How do I download an image?
From the All or Albums page, you can individually download each image by right clicking on the image directly. Select Download in the menu options.
You can also choose the “Select” button. Select all or choose specific images and then click the Download icon button.
How do I share an album?
- Right click on the album folder or look for the “Share” button inside the album.
- Add the email address of the album recipient.
- Choose the privacy options available.
- Click “Copy link” and share.
I work with scanned or low-quality images. Is Mosaic for me?
Yes! Mosaic can improve older or compressed images.
Plans & Credits
To access full functionality of Mosaic, users must have a Cloud Collection or Topaz Studio bundle subscription. Credits are not needed to enhance or render any images at this time.

What file formats are supported?
Mosaic supports standard formats like JPG, PNG, and TIFF.
Are videos supported?
No. Mosaic currently processes single static images.
Does Mosaic work in any browser?
Mosaic performs best in modern browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Safari and other browsers may have limited performance or compatibility.
Feedback
Where do I leave feedback for ideas or suggestions?
You can click the “Give feedback” button within the Mosaic app. The button is located in the top right corner. The button leads you to a survey form.
