Mac System Profile

You will need your Mac system profile, .spx, to use Mac Check, and may need it when reaching out to support.

Get Your .spx

  1. Open System Settings > General > About, or click here to open automagically.
  2. Scroll down, select System Report...
  3. In the System Information window, go to the menu bar and select File > Save
  4. Choose a location to save the file.

Use Terminal

If you are comfortable using Terminal, use the command below to generate your .spx file.

system_profiler -xml > ~/Desktop/System_Profile_$(date +%Y-%m-%d_%H-%M-%S).spx 2>/dev/null

Your system profile will be saved to the desktop.
